M.A.I.N.S (means HANDS in english), soon created on September, has the aim to do going out of your home for meeting with everybody by Sign Language.

The association M.A.I.N.S. organizes for the third year the International Day Deaf on Saturday 26 September 2009 in Paris.
Exceptionally, are invited the President of the World Federation of Deaf, President of the European Union of the Deaf and the President of the National Federation of the Deaf in France.
The three presidents will make an important announcement on this day.
The theme of the day is: The language of the deaf and the society.
Everyone is welcome:
- Of course the deaf from around the world
- Parents of deaf child
- Hearing people interested in sign language and the community deaf…
The important thing is to be proud of who we are!
Antoine Billy’s head of J.M.S. the F.N.S.F., advises local associations of deaf people to organize JMS in France the Saturday 19 September, so that all deaf people could meet in Paris on Saturday 26 September.
Saturday 26 September:
- Morning: stands, meetings, selling and sandwiches…
- Afternoon walk
- Evening: meeting friendly
The detailed program will be broadcast beginning in September.
To encourage the development of JMS, for the commitment of each citizen of you for the recognition of the deaf community, you can do a donation to the association M.A.I.N.S.
Beginning in September, you can apply to become volunteers at of IDD

Medical deafness! This is the day of the deaf, the deaf community, of sign language.

On the 26th of June 2009 MuteSounds will be back at the Paard van Troje in The Hague, where deaf and hearing people will meet again to enjoy music and party the night away! MuteSounds is a dance event for deaf and hearing people where everybody can experience music through their senses. You can feel the atmosphere through a vibrating dance floor, interactive media, video installations, lights, the best DJ’s and unique live acts. This is your opportunity to experience and be part of this unique concept.

Downtown The Hague we show “New Deaf Cinema” at unexpected locations. Within the theme we show the best and most inspiring new films. Be inspired by them, enjoy the sense of a community and participate in the Q&A afterwards. With our film program you’ll be getting a unique opportunity to experience the world of the deaf.

Wednesday June 24th you are invited to the preview with music and film at PopHotSpot at Grote Markt, The Hague. In collaboration with Shoot me Fil Festival, MuteSounds organises an exceptional preview, accessible to everyone.

Once upon a time, a van-full of filmmakers missioned across to Holland (and back) in 36 hours, to attend the Biggest Deaf Party in Europe.
None of us could sign, and our beautiful subject, Lenny,
could not hear us, so we embarked on a communication mission of epic proportions,
as we try to understand what life would be like without music,
and what would happen if there were a way to get it back.
