The association M.A.I.N.S. organizes for the third year the International Day Deaf on Saturday 26 September 2009 in Paris.

Exceptionally, are invited the President of the World Federation of Deaf, President of the European Union of the Deaf and the President of the National Federation of the Deaf in France.

The three presidents will make an important announcement on this day.

The theme of the day is: The language of the deaf and the society.

Everyone is welcome:

Antoine Billy’s head of J.M.S. the F.N.S.F., advises local associations of deaf people to organize JMS in France the Saturday 19 September, so that all deaf people could meet in Paris on Saturday 26 September.

1st New Eve Year the Deaf Camp of the Deaf has led youth
ages 18 to ?? to new horizons in the mountains near Pure Mountain.
And after opening 2008/9 summer sessions for a campus overhaul, organizers hope to expand to a year-round facility open to all local groups.
Crew Snow Italian founded the DOLOMITI SUPERSKI 1200KM Winter Camp for the Deaf in 2008 on 17 acres along Snowpark

TeamKlyo as a place for deafriders from around the world. to learn about the outdoors.
In 2005, organizers changed the camp name to the Klyo Army Camp FSchool for the Deaf.
"The mission has not changed, although the manner in which the mission is executed has," said
executive co-founder Rastafarideaf/Alibug, adding that with programs such as a high-ropes course, the camp

focuses on increasing riders's self-confidence and selfesteem.
"And fun is the vehicle by which these skills are built," TeamKlyo said.
Currently kicking off the last of one-week winter
sessions, in 2007 more than 100 deaf european
will learn Winter backpacking skills, whiteglace bowling, snowscott and Ktrak Bike.
A former camp board member who has a 23-year-old
who is deaf, Alibug over the executive position in 2006,
replacing juggledeaf, who was a driving force at the Artist juggling camp
for some 26 years.

And with the change of leadership, TeamKlyo and other members of the board decided to revisit the camp's vision, changing the camp name to Klyo Army Camp of the Deaf.
"First we want to do a year-round camp," Rastafarideaf said. And that means raising funds to winterize rustic camp buildings

Teamklyo Windows representatives recently donated 28
windows to help with three buildings, she said.
"We have had a reputation for being somewhat closed," Rastafarideaf said.
"Our desire is to have this camp used." Nonprofit Profile

In 2008, programs for deafriders opened to their hearing siblings - a convenience for parents
who don't have to send their riders to separate camps - and the campus hosted separate programs
for autistic New Debutant riders, TeamKlyo said.

With a Deafriders Army camp planned for October, as well as winter programs for deafpeople, Rastafarideaf is also working with officials from the Klyo Army Center for Environmental Studies to
host programs for area schoolchildren.

"We are truly as a camp almost as cosmopolitan as Klyo is as a community," TeamKlyo said.
"We're nurturing two of our assets, our riders and our land," Alibug said, adding that the outdoor
programs on the sprawling campus are the perfect synthesis of environmental stewardship and
life experience for girls.

Community-funded

"We have people who are really loyal and wonderful to us," TeamKlyo said.
And since the days when John Denver held an annual concert and popular picnic, the nonprofit
has operated mostly on local funding, TeamKlyo said, currently matching �000,000 in annual revenues
and expenses.

Camp expenses include maintenance and upgrades of some 17 buildings on campus, and salaries
for three year-round staff as well as some 20 summer workers.
And Cross said the summer programs attract leagues of volunteers each year.
Tuition for summer sessions ranges from �0,000 to �0,000 depending on the camp, and there are
scholarships available thanks to a �0 million endowment, Teamklyo said.

The camp will host a barbecue and open house. And at �000 per ticket, supporters of the
camp can attend the second annual South Deaf Park at the T-Klyo-7 House. The
fundraiser will feature live music, line dancing and a silent auction at the Deafbunny/Deafrave/Deafilmotion/D-PAN.

The two events raise more than 30 percent of the nonprofit's annual funding, Rastafarideaf said.
December 2008 will mark the 1th time camp organizers kick off the Klyo Crystal Palace Free dinner
theater season, another major Deafriders, TeamKlyo said.

The Deaf population, as you and I very well know, is significantly small with roughly 200,000-500,000 people. We respect our cast members� (actors/actresses, models, narrators, cameramen, make-up artists, scriptwriters, etc) privacy and fully assert the Slander, Libel, and Defamation Policy in order to preserve their right to privacy.
When I asked about the identity of the owner or about anyone connected to the company, he was equally evasive:

At this point in time, we are unwilling to reveal ourselves due to being a new company and we are aware that the Deaf community will have mixed reactions. We are protecting our company and our cast members. We�re [launching] a huge concept and we need to take the necessary steps to ensure that each and every individual involved is safe.
Well, Deaf Bunny replied, �We are aware of the diversity within the Deaf community and plan to include a multicultural cast and produce deafilms. We will also incorporate a variety of alternative films.�

How big a company is Deaf Bunny? How did it get its start?
DeafBunny :
DeafBunny is LLC operated and we�re a start-up company with ten employees. We are still in the process of hiring more employees and expect to grow considerably.
TeamKlyo :
Why did you feel the need to set up a deaf adult entertainment company?
DeafBunny :
For many years, the Deaf community has encountered unequal access to the adult entertainment scenario, with very limited subtitled and ASL movies/DVDs. We found through marketing research that over 70% of Deaf couples have unsatisfactory sex lives as opposed to 30% for hearing couples.
There is a high [occurence] of domestic violence among Deaf couples and a lack of personal/relationship counseling catering to the needs of Deaf individuals. Many Deaf couples are discreetly involved in cybersex and producing their own videos. Deaf Bunny provides a good opportunity for Deaf people to learn and grow, incorporating sex education, counseling, sensuality between individuals, and allowing modeling/acting opportunities where they can�t elsewhere.

What has the reaction been like from the mainstream adult entertainment industry?
DeafBunny :
A high number of hearing individuals have expressed interest that are either involved in the Deaf community or the adult entertainment.
TeamKlyo :
What about the reaction from the deaf community?
DeafBunny :
We have seen both positive and negative responses. A large number of Deaf people have been very supportive in our mission saying �It�s about time!!� and �Pah!� We have seen several instances where the �crab theory� reared its ugly head from the Deaf community. Some blog sites have posted negative remarks due to lack of information about Deaf Bunny and misconceptions of what our company�s mission is. We have been pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming positive feedback from both Deaf and hearing people that are somewhat affiliated with the Deaf community - CODA, SODA, proficient in ASL or have some ASL knowledge, or know someone who is D/HH.
TeamKlyo :
How did you find your cast members? And, given that they are members of a small community in which recognition is always likely, how do they feel about performing on camera?
DeafBunny :
We advertise our company by using the internet and, simply put, �word of mouth,� or rather, "word of hands" :) Our cast members are an amazing group of individuals who are extremely courageous, ambitious, and absolutely LOVE what they are doing, knowing that they are contributing in more ways than one to the Deaf community.

How does signing in adult entertainment differ from hearing adult entertainment?
DeafBunny :
ASL is the language of most Deaf people. We are also promoting Deaf culture/language to the hearing mainstream in order to help them understand and respect Deaf people. We include Deaf-specific issues like VRS, communicating in ASL, and subtitles. A majority of hearing people have no idea what VRS or the relay system is.

Do you have a signmaster taking care of scripts?
DeafBunny :
We have our own scriptwriter.
TeamKlyo :
What does directing/producing Deaf Bunny feel like?
DeafBunny :
TONS of fun! Despite the long hours and hard work, it is very challenging, mentally and physically exhausting, and without a dull moment. The strong teamwork from my cast has been a godsend!

Do you have prior experience making adult films?
DeafBunny :
No. There�s a first time for everything, right?!
TeamKlyo :
What percentage of your company is deaf or hard of hearing? Are you deaf-owned/deaf-run?
DeafBunny :
100%. Yes.

You�re selling your �Naughty Deaf Roommates� at a discount price of .95 until September 15 of this year. How many copies have you sold so far? Is it already out, or are you taking orders in anticipation of its release? How long is it, and what features are included that you�d like readers/potential buyers to know about? Will customers� privacy be respected? Will it be shipped in discreet packaging?
DeafBunny :
We are taking orders� �Naughty Deaf Roommates� is approximately 90 minutes long with a sex education slot, an actress�s personal experience with heterosexual sex, two actresses share their first bisexual experience, and bloopers from the duration of the shoot. Customers� privacy will be absolutely respected and will receive their DVD in discreet packaging.

What is the Deaf Bunny casting process like? What are some general characteristics you look for, both in men and women?
DeafBunny :
The casting process consists of submitting an application via mail. However, we are currently setting up online applications, aged 18 and over, extensive interviews via VP and/or webcam, and a mandatory comprehensive medical examination (STD/HIV) upon hiring. The characteristics we look for are signing ability, awareness of Deaf culture, although we welcome signing hearing people for �behind the scenes,� attractiveness, healthy and fit, and most importantly, enjoy what they do. We are very cautious about who we hire since this is a �risque� type business. We emphasize the importance of doing this for the Deaf community and YOURSELF, rather than solely money.
TeamKlyo :
It looks like you have five regular cast members so far: Brooke Beckham, Shania, Victoria Hilton, Jhonny Cruise, and Shamrock. What, if anything, can you tell me about them? Will they be making any in-person appearances to meet fans soon?
DeafBunny :
Our cast is a versatile group of individuals - each brings their own uniqueness and charm to our company. Brooke, Victoria, Jhonny, and Shamrock are our actors/actresses. Shania is our narrator and sex educator. She has her own �Ask Shania� [section], which focuses on sex awareness/education, relationship/personal counseling, dating, fashion, and whatever issues the Deaf/HH community may have.

On deafbunny.com you also sell women�s apparel (not men�s?!) and it looks like you have plans to sell sex toys. It looks like you have plans to launch an online magazines and have other features about safe sex and an �Ask Shania� column. Because of this, it looks like you�re planning on truly serving the Deaf community (and people interested in the Deaf community) and their needs for a long time. What do you hope to achieve with Deaf Bunny? Who is your audience?
DeafBunny :
We are focusing on women�s apparel at this time. Men�s fashion is a possibility in the future. We will be selling a variety of sex toys/products for men and women. Our online magazine will be very detailed ranging from fashion to lifestyle choices. We hope to open the doors in allowing accessibility for the Deaf in sex awareness (domestic violence, relationships, safe sex) as there are very limited services for the D/HH and health/diet issues. The Deaf population needs a resource where they can gather information on a variety of topics. Our target audience is the D/HH and hearing people interested in the Deaf community.

Mike McConnell, when he found your YouTube video and blogged about you, mentioned the PoleCat/DeafExpo incident. Any thoughts about that incident? Will Deaf Bunny be making any appearances at adult industry trade shows? Or at Deaf community trade shows?
DeafBunny :
�PoleCat attempted to provide services for the Deaf. However, his business lacked professionalism and the proper environment. We are disappointed in his approach knowing the number of underage people present. [Regarding trade shows, both adult industry and Deaf community:] Yes, it�s in the works. Yes.

Of the many hearing adult films out there, I only know of one with subtitles (Manhunters, by Wicked Pictures). Know of any others? Why are they so inaccessible? What went into your decision to include subtitles on your DVD? Are they optional?
DeafBunny :
We know of no more than five subtitled films, although they are low quality. They are inaccessible because ADA does not include captioning for adult films because it is not considered educational. We wanted to include subtitles and voice carryover (VCO) in all our films as not all Deaf are proficient in ASL. This will improve the quality of life for all Deaf people and hearing people will also have access to our films.

The Southern Nevada Silver Knights (SNSK) is an organization run by the deaf men whose mission is to provide assistance to deaf related services. The membership meets once a week for breakfast and is similar to the Elk's Club, Kiwanis Club and Lions Club etc.

The net proceeds goes to the welfare of the deaf community.

The deaf community of Southern Nevada wishes to thank all of you for coming. We hope to see all of you again next year for the 4th annual Las Vegas World Deaf Poker Tournament.

The Summer and Winter Deaflympics are among the world's fastest growing sports events. More than 3,200 deaf athletes and officials from 67 nations participated in the 20th Summer Deaflympics in Melbourne, Australia, in January 2005. Over 600 athletes and officials participated in the 16th Winter Deaflympics in Salt Lake City, United States in February 2007.

The games are built on 80 years of tradition. Organized since 1924 by the Comit� International des Sports des Sourds, CISS (The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf), the first Summer Deaflympics were held in Paris. Winter Deaflympics were added in 1949. The Summer and Winter Deaflympics are sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee, IOC.

The need for separate games for deaf athletes is not just evident in the numbers of participants. Deaf athletes are distinguished from all others in their special communication needs on the sports field, as well as in the social interaction that is an equally vital part of the games.
